Humbled by yesterday's encounter:
Homeless man: "Any spare change? I'm almost to a hamburger"
Me: (who usually says no thank you but thinks in other terms
) "Hmmm....let's see" (while reaching in wallet and finding $2) "Oh, look, we got lucky!" (handing him the money.)
Homeless man: "Oh! Thank you! God Bless you! I will pray for you tomorrow..." (Easter)
Me: "Why don't you pray for me today?"
Homeless man: "Ok, then! I will pray for you today!"
Me: "Thanks..."
Me: (ineffective afterthought....and probably out of earshot) "God bless you."

Matthew something in the Bible says.... "Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won’t lose out on a thing.”
Yeah....but he gave to me.
